This year our cattle have got a tasty surprise to keep them well fed throughout the autumn and supplement the grass. We have planted a crop of forage rape, stubble turnips and grass (with left over barley from last year) for them to munch away. Hopefully they like it!
This year harvest is all wrapped up earlier than most years! Due to the hot weather in May and June, the crops ripened hastily and allowed us to finish by the 17th of August. This is now a great opportunity to tackle any field issues, prepare our catch crops and a new fodder crop for feeding the cattle throughout the autumn… Hope they like turnips!
